Restorative dentistry encompasses the process of restoring missing, damaged or diseased teeth to normal form and function. Combining the artistry of cosmetic dentistry with the science of neuromuscular dentistry, we can create a beautiful, functional and comfortable smile. We utilize the most advanced technology available to capture computerized images of the jaw’s muscle function in both the relaxed and stressed positions, allowing us to determine the best course of treatment for your specific case. We will work with you individually to create a customized treatment plan that will deliver optimal results. Some forms of restorative dentistry may include:
Implants | Gold Restorations | Permanent Bridges | Complete Dentures | Partial Dentures
Implants
Dental implants are an ideal option for people in good general oral health who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, an injury or some other reason. While high-tech in nature, dental implants are actually more tooth-saving than traditional bridgework, since implants do not rely on neighboring teeth for support.

Gold Restorations
The advantages of gold restorations are numerous. Gold is the most bio-compatible material available for restoring teeth. It contains none of the potentially toxic materials that are present in other dental materials. Gold is a natural material that does not oxidize and does not stain surrounding tooth structure. A gold restoration can be shaped to fit the cavity in a tooth without removing (amputating) healthy tooth structure while strengthening and protecting the tooth. If you have “health concerns’ regarding dental materials your best option is gold. Probably the best endorsement of gold restorations is that it is the first choice among dentists when they have their own teeth restored.

A permanent bridge is usually anchored to the teeth on both sides of the space from the missing tooth. This gives the bridge strong support. Brushing a bridge is no different than brushing your natural teeth, but special flossing instructions are given to keep the bridge and surrounding tissue healthy.

Complete dentures replace all of the teeth on either the upper or lower jaw. Complete dentures are made of prefabricated acrylic and sized to fit the shape of your jaw and mouth. They mimic the color and appearance of your natural teeth. The unique impression of your teeth, bite and shape of your jaw shape will be used to create the dentures. Typically, conventional complete dentures require a one-to-two-month wait after the extraction of your teeth, so that your mouth and gums will have time to heal, permitting a more accurate fitting. However, if you cannot afford to be without missing teeth even for a short time, dentures can be inserted immediately after the extraction.
Over time your mouth will change, but your dentures will not. The jaw bones and gum can shrink and recede. You can have your dentures remade or refitted when necessary.

Partial dentures are removable devices that replace a few missing teeth, instead of all the teeth on the jaw line. They can be attached either by metal clasps or precision attachments. Precision attachments require crowns to be put on the remaining abutments (teeth that hold the partial dentures into place). Regardless, these supporting teeth must be in good health.
Results will be phenomenal – providing patients not only with a proper bite that will eliminate the sore jaw muscles and headaches, but a beautiful, healthy smile that will make heads turn!
